As part of the module Pictograms, I developed my own set of symbols exploring the many facets of love – from intimacy and playfulness to heartbreak and separation. Each icon is based on a black heart as the core form, into which white elements flow to create emotional metaphors such as Kiss, Broken Heart, Unbreakable Bond, or Heartache.
The reduced black-and-white design creates a poetic visual system that communicates emotions with both clarity and sensitivity. In this way, a conventional sign system transforms into a personal expression of inner states.
